HP enouncing new Integrity NonStop BladeSystem |

HP enounced the new Integrity NonStop BladeSystem, the NB50000c BladeSystem. This Integrity Server is the next model in the range of Integrity NonStop Servers and is based on HP's c-Class BladeSystem technology. In the NB50000c BladeSystem configuration, the Integrity server blade is a full-height blade server featuring Intel® Itanium® 9100 series dual-core 1.66GHz processors upporting up to 48 GB memory and fortified with the ServerNet fault tolerant server area networking (SAN) interconnect. According to HP the NB50000c doubles the performance in half the footprint. Because this new dual-core architecture HP has changes the major OS release identifier from the letter H to J. The NB50000c BladeSystem is first BladeSystem in the new NB-Series NonStop Servers. Continuous doesn't see the NB50000c as a competitor for the High-End Integrity Servers as the NS16000 and NS16200. The NB50000c is not available with NonStop Advanced Architecture (NSAA) but only as pure simplex NonStop Integrity Server. More information is available at the HP website:

HP enouncing VxSE (GESA replacement) |

HP enounced a replacement for the EOS GESA product. The products are the V4SE and V8SE which are a 4 port and 8 port gigabit ethernet adapter for the NonStop S-Series Servers. The official productname is: VxSE Gigabit Ethernet Enclosures The V4SE is build out of a pair of VIO's without any fibrechannel adapters. Each VIO has 2 gigabit ethernet ports which bring the total number of gigabit ports to 4 for a pair of VIO's. The V8SE is the V4SE expanded with an extra G4SA (the expansion G4SA). The VxSE Gigabit Ethernet Enclosures will be connected to a pair of MSEB's in the NonStop S-Series Servers. The VxSE product is also available for NS-Series Carrier Grade systems, but will have the productname VxSECG. The VxSECG is suitable for every Carrier Grade NonStop Server with a Processor-Switch (P-Switch). Currently the NS16000CG, NS5000CG and the NS5000T are Carrier Grade Servers for which the product can be used for.
